True Happiness

Dear Friends,

The Big Day(The day of marriage) is always the much awaited day in a person’s life, when he/she is all set to enter into a new world. A world  of fascination, love, passion, desire, enthrallment and promise. This is an incident that made a bridegroom experience unanticipated bliss.
Loads of love,
Meena

Unanticipated Bliss

The Big Day had arrived,
It  was high time my fantasy thrived.
Copiouslybounded by family and friends,
I was fervent to perceive how reverie and veracity blends.
My beloved,my darling, the love of my life,
Was finally going to get solemnized as my wife.

Prepared to stride into a newfangled world,
Awfullyexultant to seek blessings and best wishes.
Wearing thefinest of my apparel and appearance.
The whole thing was flawlessly planned
The flow of the event never got jammed.
On each face there was brightness and delight,
Rejoicingthe triumph after winning the fight.

The non-natural stars fixed on the roof top with the chandeliers and cascading lights,
Emanated plethora of illumination ,creating delusion of day into night.
The guests looking in awe at the delicately emblazoned walls
There was a romantic aura around

Waiting for vows and union, bride I found.
She looked  so adorable, blushing and love-bound,
Our eyes were busy in dialogue, without any sound.
Entered a bevy of girls and broke the spell,
Oh! That moment was spent so well.

I moved out to see,why my best buddy didn’t arrive,
The venue from his house was hardly –ten-minutes drive.
Proceeding towards the gate, waiting for him,
I came across a lad trying to sneak in.

Before the watchman could shoo him off ,
I signaled and asked him to stop.
Calling him closer,I asked his name.
“Sir I wasn’t coming in. It was just a game.”
I smiled at him and he smiled back,
Knowing in our hearts what would come back.

I escorted   him  to the dining area.
While moving ahead he looked here and there.
Bewildered, confused, shy, embarrassed.
He wondered if he was going to be harassed.
Looking at my face he felt assured
I served him the dishes meant for the guests

He looked so unsettled, searching for rest.
I took a spoonful and fed the lad,
The expression on his face was so fab.
He started helping himself after two-three spoons.
His facial expression altered with a boom.

He realized that he wasn’t dreaming,
With euphoria  ,his eyes were beaming.
A sound from behind , ruptured my concentration,
The friend I was waiting for, coveted my attention.

Walking hand in hand we moved inside the hall,
Attending the ceremony was the urgent call.
Friends, guests, relatives ,all were beaming with joy,
But all this happiness  could not match the bliss,
On the face of that boy.
